PESHITTA ARAMAIC-ENGLISH AND HEBREW BIBLE - SERMON ON THE MOUNT - MATTHEW 5-7

Matthew 5:1 - כַּד חזָא דֵּין יֵשׁוּע לכֵנשֵׁא סלֵק לטוּרָא וכַד יִתֵב קרֵבו לוָתֵה תַּלמִידַוהי .   
Matthew 5:1 - BUT when Jeshu saw the multitudes, he ascended a mountain; and when he had sat down, his disciples drew near to him;    
Matthew 5:1 - And when Jesus saw the multitudes, he ascended a hill; and when he was seated, his disciples drew near him:    
Matthew 5:1 - WHEN Jesus saw the crowds, he went up to the mountain; and as he sat down, his disciples drew near to him.    
Matthew 5:1 - וַיְהִי כִּרְאוֹתוֹ אֶת־הֲמוֹן הָעָם וַיַּעַל הָהָרָה וַיֵּשֶׁב שָׁם וַיִּגְּשׁוּ אֵלָיו תַּלְמִידָיו׃   
Matthew 5:2 - וַפתַח פּוּמֵה ומַלֵפ הוָא להוּן וָאמַר .

Matthew 5:3 - BLESSED (are) the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.

Matthew 5:6 - Blessed they who hunger and thirst unto righteousness, for they shall be satisfied.

Matthew 5:8 - Blessed they who are pure in their hearts, for they shall see Aloha.

Matthew 5:9 - Blessed the makers of peace, for the children of Aloha shall they be called.

Matthew 5:10 - טוּבַיהוּן לַאילֵין דֵּאתרדֵפו מֵטֻל כּאִנוּתָא דּדִילהוּן הִי מַלכּוּתָא דַּשׁמַיָא .   
Matthew 5:10 - Blessed they who are persecuted because of righteousness, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.    
Matthew 5:10 - Blessed are they that are persecuted on account of righteousness: for the kingdom of heaven is theirs!

Matthew 5:11 - טוּבַיכּוּן אֵמַתי דַּמחַסדִּין לכוּן ורָדפִּין לכוּן וָאמרִין עלַיכּוּן כֻּל מֵלָא בִּישָׁא מֵטֻלָתי בּדַגָּלוּתָא .   
Matthew 5:11 - Blessed are you when they treat you with reviling, and persecute you, and say concerning you every evil word, for my sake, in falsity.    
Matthew 5:11 - Blessed are ye, when they revile you and persecute you, and speak every evil thing against you, falsely, on my account.

Matthew 5:12 - הָידֵּין חדַו וַרוַזו דַּאגרכוּן סגִי בַּשׁמַיָא הָכַנָא גֵּיר רדַפו לַנבִיֵא דּמֵן קדָמַיכּוּן .   
Matthew 5:12 - Then be glad and exult, for your reward is great in heaven; for so persecuted they the prophets who were before you.

Matthew 5:13 - אַנתּוּן אֵנוּן מֵלחָה דַּארעָא אֵנהוּ דֵּין דּמֵלחָא תֵּפכַּה בּמָנָא תֵּתמלַח למֵדֵּם לָא אָזָלא אֵלָא דּתֵשׁתּדֵא לבַר ותֵתּדִישׁ מֵן אנָשָׁא .    
Matthew 5:13 - You are the salt of the earth: but if it happen that salt become tasteless, with what shall it be seasoned? It goeth for nothing but to be thrown without and trodden down by men.    
Matthew 5:13 - Ye are the salt of the earth! But if the salt become insipid, with what shall it be seasoned ? It is fit for nothing; but to be thrown out, and be trodden under foot by men.    
Matthew 5:13 - You are indeed the salt of the earth; but if the salt should lose its savor, with what could it be salted? It would not be worth anything, but to be thrown outside and to be trodden down by men.    
Matthew 5:13 - אַתֶּם מֶלַח הָאָרֶץ וְאִם־הַמֶּלַח הָיָה תָפֵל בַּמֶּה יָמְלָח הֵן לֹא־יִצְלַח עוֹד לַכֹּל כִּי אִם־לְהַשְׁלִיךְ חוּצָה וְהָיָה מִרְמָס לִבְנֵי אָדָם׃   
Matthew 5:14 - אַנתּוּן אֵנוּן נוּהרֵה דּעָלמָא לָא מֵשׁכּחָא דּתֵטשֵׁא מדִינתָּא דּעַל טוּרָא בַּניָא .   
Matthew 5:14 - You are the light of the world: It is not possible that a city which is built upon a hill can be hidden.    
Matthew 5:14 - Ye are the light of the world! A city built upon a hill, not be concealed.   
Matthew 5:14 - You are indeed the light of the world; a city that is built upon a mountain cannot be hidden.   
Matthew 5:14 - אַתֶּם אוֹרוֹ שֶׁל־עוֹלָם עִיר יֹשֶׁבֶת עַל־הָהָר לֹא תִסָּתֵר׃    
Matthew 5:15 - ולָא מַנהרִין שׁרָגָא וסָימִין לֵה תּחֵית סַאתָא אֵלָא עַל מנָרתָּא ומַנהַר לכֻל אַילֵין דַּבבַיתָּא אֵנוּן .   
Matthew 5:15 - Nor do they kindle a lamp and place it beneath a measure, but on a candlestick, and it enlighteneth all who are in the house.    
Matthew 5:15 - And they do not light a lamp and place it under a bushel; but upon a lightstand, and it giveth light to all that are in the house.   
Matthew 5:15 - Nor do they light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on a lamp holder, so it gives light to all who are in the house.   
Matthew 5:15 - גַּם אֵין מַדְלִיקִים נֵר לָשׂוֹּם אוֹתוֹ תַּחַת הָאֵיפָה כִּי אִם־עַל־הַמְּנוֹרָה לְהָאִיר לְכָל־אֲשֶׁר בַּבָּיִת׃   
Matthew 5:16 - הָכַנָא נֵנהַר נוּהרכוּן קדָם בּנַינָשָׁא דּנֵחזוּן עבָדַיכּוּן טָבֵא וַנשַׁבּחוּן לַאבוּכוּן דּבַשׁמַיָא .   
Matthew 5:16 - So let your light shine before the sons of men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father who is in heaven.

Matthew 5:17 - Think not that I came to loose the law or the prophets: not that I might loose, but that I might fulfill.    
Matthew 5:17 - Do not suppose that I have come to subvert the law or the prophets: [I have come] not to subvert, but to fulfill.    
Matthew 5:17 - Do not expect that I have come to weaken the law or the prophets; I have not come to weaken, but to fulfil.    
Matthew 5:17 - אַל־תְּדַמּוּ כִּי בָאתִי לְהָפֵר אֶת־הַתּוֹרָה אוֹ אֶת־דִּבְרֵי הַנְּבִיאִים לֹא בָאתִי לְהָפֵר כִּי אִם־לְמַלּאת׃   
Matthew 5:18 - אַמִין גֵּיר אָמַר אנָא לכוּן דַּעדַמָא דּנֵעבּרוּן שׁמַיָא וַארעָא יוּד חדָא אַו חַד סֵרטָא לָא נֵעבַּר מֵן נָמוּסָא עדַמָא דּכֻל נֵהוֵא .    
Matthew 5:18 - For, Amen I say unto you, that until heaven and earth shall pass away, one yod, or one point,["One line."-Codex Vienniensis.] shall not pass from the law, till all be done.    
Matthew 5:18 - For verily I say to you, that until heaven and earth shall pass away, one iota or one letter shall not pass from the law, until all shall be fulfilled.   
Matthew 5:18 - For truly I tell you, Until heaven and earth pass away, not even one yoth or a dash shall pass away from the law until all of it is fulfilled.

Matthew 5:19 - כֻּל מַן הָכִיל דּנֵשׁרֵא חַד מֵן פּוּקדָּנֵא הָלֵין זעוּרֵא ונַלֵפ הָכַנָא לַבנַינָשָׁא בּצִירָא נֵתקרֵא בּמַלכּוּתָא דַּשׁמַיָא כֻּל דֵּין דּנֵעבֵּד ונַלֵפ הָנָא רַבָּא נֵתקרֵא בּמַלכּוּתָא דַּשׁמַיָא .   
Matthew 5:19 - Every one, therefore, who shall set loose one from these least commandments, and shall so teach the children of men, the least shall he be called in the kingdom of heaven: but every one who shall do and teach [them] , this [one] shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven.    
Matthew 5:19 - Therefore whoever shall break one of these small commands and shall so inculcate on the children of men, shall be called little in the kingdom of heaven: but every one that shall do and teach [them], shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven.   
Matthew 5:19 - Whoever therefore tries to weaken even one of these smallest commandments, and teaches men so, he shall be regarded as small in the kingdom of heaven; but anyone who observes and teaches them, he shall be regarded as great in the kingdom of heaven.   
Matthew 5:19 - לָכֵן הָאִישׁ אֲשֶׁר יָפֵר אַחַת מִן־הַמִּצְוֹת הַקְּטַנּוֹת הָאֵלֶּה וִילַמֵּד אֶת־בְּנֵי הָאָדָם לַעֲשׂוֹת כָּמוֹהוּ קָטוֹן יִקָּרֵא לוֹ בְּמַלְכוּת הַשָׁמָיִם וַאֲשֶׁר יַעָשֶׂה וִילַמֵּד אוֹתָן לָזֶה גָּדוֹל יִקָּרֵא בְּמַלְכוּת הַשָׁמָיִם׃   
Matthew 5:20 - אָמַר אנָא לכוּן גֵּיר דֵּאלָא תּאִתַר כּאִנוּתכוּן יַתִּיר מֵן דּסָפרֵא וַפרִישֵׁא לָא תֵּעלוּן למַלכּוּתָא דַּשׁמַיָא .   
Matthew 5:20 - For I say to you, that unless your righteousness shall abound more than that of the scribes [Sophree. This order of public teachers (the preaching and writing clergy of the Jews) does not seem sufficiently indicated by the word " scribes " in the English version. Luther well renders the corresponding Greek term by Schriftgelehrten.] and the Pharishee, you shall not enter into the kingdom of heaven.    
Matthew 5:20 - For I say to you, that unless your righteousness shall abound more than that of the Scribes and Pharisees, ye shall not enter into the kingdom of heaven.

Matthew 5:21 - YOU have heard that it was said unto them who were before, Thou shalt not kill; and whosoever shall kill is obnoxious to the judgment.

Matthew 5:22 - But I say unto you, that he who is angry against his brother rashly, is obnoxious to the judgment; and he who shall say to his brother, Thou empty one ! is liable to the council; and every one who shall say, Thou fool ! is liable to the gihano of fire.    
Matthew 5:22 - But I say to you, That every one who is angry with his brother rashly, is obnoxious to judgment: and every one that saith to his brother, Raka! is obnoxious to the council : and every one that shall say, Fool is obnoxious to hell-fire.   
Matthew 5:22 - But I say to you, that whoever becomes angry with his brother for no reason, is guilty before the court: and whoever should say to his brother, Raca (which means, I spit on you) is guilty before the congregation; and whoever says to his brother, you are a nurse maid, is condemned to hell fire.   
Matthew 5:22 - וַאֲנִי אֹמֵר לָכֶם כָּל־אֲשֶׁר יִקְצֹף עַל־אָחִיו חִנָּם חַיָּב הוּא לְבֵית דִּין וַאֲשֶׁר יֹאמַר אֶל־אָחִיו רֵקָא חַיָּב הוּא לְסַנְהֶדְרִין וַאֲשֶׁר נָבָל יִקְרָא לוֹ הוּא מְחֻיַּב אֵשׁ גֵּיהִנֹּם׃    
Matthew 5:23 - אֵן הוּ הָכִיל דַּמקַרֵב אַנתּ קוּרבָּנָכ עַל מַדבּחָא ותַמָן תֵּתּדּכַר דַּאחִיד עלַיכּ אַחוּכ אַכּתָא מֵדֵּם .   
Matthew 5:23 - If it occur, therefore, that thou bring thy oblation to the altar, and there rememberest that thy brother retaineth some enmity against thee;

Matthew 5:24 - שׁבוּק תַּמָן קוּרבָּנָכ קדָם מַדבּחָא וזֵל לוּקדַם אֵתרַעָא עַם אַחוּכ והָידֵּין תָּא קַרֵב קוּרבָּנָכ .   
Matthew 5:24 - leave there thy oblation at the altar, and go, first be reconciled with thy brother, and then come and offer thy oblation.

Matthew 5:25 - הוַיתּ מֵתַאוֵא עַם בּעֵל דִּינָכ עגַל עַד עַמֵה אַנתּ בֻּאורחָא דַּלמָא בּעֵל דִּינָכ נַשׁלמָכ לדַיָנָא ודַיָנָא נַשׁלמָכ לגַבָּיָא ותֵפֵּל בֵּית אַסִירֵא .   
Matthew 5:25 - Be at one with thine adversary [Beel-dino, "lord of strife."] quickly, while thou art with him in the way; lest thy adversary deliver thee to the judge, and the judge deliver thee to the exactor, and thou fall into the house of the bound.    
Matthew 5:25 - Be at agreement with thy prosecutor, forthwith, and while on the way with him; lest the prosecutor deliver thee up to the judge, and the Judge deliver thee over to the sheriff, and thou fall into the house of prisoners.   
Matthew 5:25 - Try to get reconciled with your accuser promptly, while you are going on the road with him; for your accuser might surrender you to the judge, and the judge would commit you to the jailer, and you will be cast into prison.   
Matthew 5:25 - מַהֵר הִתְרַצֵּה לְאִישׁ רִיבְךָ בְּעוֹדְךָ בַדֶּרֶךְ אִתּוֹ פֶּן־יַסְגִּירְךָ אִישׁ רִיבְךָ אֶל־הַשֹׁפֵט וְהַשֹׁפֵט יַסְגִּירְךָ לַשׁוֹטֵר וְהָשְׁלַכְתָּ אֶל־בֵּית הַכֶּלֶא׃   
Matthew 5:26 - וַאמִין אָמַר אנָא לָכ דּלָא תֵּפּוּק מֵן תַּמָן עדַמָא דּתֵתֵּל שָׁמוּנָא אחרָיָא .   
Matthew 5:26 - And, Amen I say unto thee, that thou shalt not come forth from thence till thou hast rendered the last shamuna.[A minute coin, in value the one-eighth of the asor, or assarius; from the Hebrew shemoneh, " eight."]   
Matthew 5:26 - Verily I say to thee, Thou wilt not come out from there until thou hast paid the last farthing.   
Matthew 5:26 - Truly I say to you, that you would never come out thence until you had paid the last cent.

Matthew 5:27 - שְׁמַעְתֶּם כִּי נֶאֱמַר לָרִאשֹׁנִים לֹא תִנְאָף׃    
Matthew 5:28 - אֵנָא דֵּין אָמַר אנָא לכוּן דּכֻל מַן דּחָזֵא אַנתּתָא אַיכ דּנֵרגִּיה מֵחדָא גָּרָה בּלֵבֵּה .   
Matthew 5:28 - But I say to you, that every one who beholdeth a woman so as that he shall desire her, already committeth adultery in his heart.    
Matthew 5:28 - But I say to you, That whoever gazeth on a woman with concupiscence, at once committeth adultery with her in his heart.

Matthew 5:29 - אֵן דֵּין עַינָכ דּיַמִינָא מַכשׁלָא לָכ חצִיה וַשׁדִיה מֵנָכ פַּקָח לָכ גֵּיר דּנאִבַד חַד הַדָּמָכ ולָא כֻּלֵה פַּגרָכ נֵפֵּל בּגִהַנָא .    
Matthew 5:29 - But if thy right eye cause thee to offend, root it out and cast it from thee: it is better to thee that one of thy members should perish, than that thy whole body should fall into gihano.    
Matthew 5:29 - If therefore thy right eye make thee offend, pluck it out, and cast it from thee; because it is better for thee that thy one member perish, than that thy whole body fall into hell.

Matthew 5:31 - אֵתֵאמַר דּמַן דּשָׁרֵא אַנתּתֵה נֵתֵּל לָה כּתָבָא דּדוּלָלָא .    
Matthew 5:31 - It hath been said, that he who looseth his wife should give her a writing of divorcement.

Matthew 5:32 - אֵנָא דֵּין אָמַר אנָא לכוּן דּכֻל מַן דּשָׁרֵא אַנתּתֵה לבַר מֵן מֵלתָא דּזָניוּתָא עָבֵד לָה דַּתגוּר ומַן דּשָׁקֵל שׁבִיקתָּא גָּאַר .    
Matthew 5:32 - But I say unto you, that whosoever looseth his wife, except on account of fornication, maketh her to commit adultery; and whosoever taketh her who is sent away, committeth adultery.    
Matthew 5:32 - But I say to you, That whoever putteth away his wife, except for the offence of whoredom, causeth her to commit adultery: and he that taketh the divorced woman, committeth adultery.

Matthew 5:33 - תּוּב שׁמַעתּוּן דֵּאתֵאמַר לקַדמָיֵא דּלָא תּדַגֵּל בּמַומָתָכ תּשַׁלֵם דֵּין למָריָא מַומָתָכ .   
Matthew 5:33 - Again, you have heard it was said to those beforetime, Thou shalt not lie in thine oaths, but shalt fulfil thine oaths unto the Lord.    
Matthew 5:33 - Again, ye have heard that it hath been said to the ancients, Thou shalt not be false in thy oaths; but thou shalt perform thine oaths to the Lord.

Matthew 5:35 - nor by earth, for it is the foot-stool beneath his feet; neither by Urishlem, for it is the city of the great king.

Matthew 5:36 - Neither shalt thou swear by thy head, for thou canst not make a single hair in it either black or white.

Matthew 5:39 - But I say unto you, that you shall not rise up against evil: but if any one strike thee on the right cheek, turn to him the other also.

Matthew 5:40 - And if any one will contend with thee to take away thy tunic, leave him thy mantle also;    
Matthew 5:40 - And if one is disposed to sue thee and get away thy coat, relinquish to him also thy cloak.

Matthew 5:42 - Give to him who asketh from thee, and him who would borrow from thee refuse not.    
Matthew 5:42 - Whoever demandeth of thee, give to him: and whoever wisheth to borrow of thee, deny him not.

Matthew 5:44 - [Master of enmity.] But I say unto you, Love your enemies; bless them who execrate you; do that which is good to him who hateth you; and pray for them who lead you with a chain, and persecute you.

Matthew 5:45 - אַיכַּנָא דּתֵהווּן בּנַוהי דַּאבוּכוּן דּבַשׁמַיָא הַו דּמַדנַח שֵׁמשֵׁה עַל טָבֵא ועַל בִּישֵׁא ומַחֵת מֵטרֵה עַל כּאִנֵא ועַל עַוָלֵא .    
Matthew 5:45 - That you may be the children of your Father who is in heaven, who causeth his sun to arise on the good and on the evil, and who sendeth showers on the just and on the unjust.    
Matthew 5:45 - that ye may be the children of your Father that is in heaven, who causeth his sun to rise upon the good and upon the bad, and sendeth his rain upon the righteous and upon the unrighteous.

Matthew 5:46 - אֵן גֵּיר מַחבִין אנתּוּן לַאילֵין דּמַחבִין לכוּן מָנָא אַגרָא אִית לכוּן לָא הָא אָפ מָכסֵא הִי הָדֵא עָבדִּין .   
Matthew 5:46 - For if you love those (only) who love you, what reward have you ? do not even the tribute-gatherers this ?    
Matthew 5:46 - For, if ye love them that love you, what reward have ye? Do not even the publicans do this?   
Matthew 5:46 - For if you love only those who love you, what reward will you have? Do not even the publicans do the same thing?

Matthew 5:47 - וֵאן שָׁאלִין אנתּוּן בַּשׁלָמָא דַּאחַיכּוּן בַּלחוּד מָנָא יַתִּיר עָבדִּין אנתּוּן לָא הָא אָפ מָכסֵא הִי הָדֵא עָבדִּין .   
Matthew 5:47 - And if you wish peace to your brethren only, what more do you than they ? do not also the tribute-gatherers this ?

Matthew 5:48 - הוַו הָכִיל אַנתּוּן גּמִירֵא אַיכַּנָא דַּאבוּכוּן דּבַשׁמַיָא גּמִיר הוּ .   
Matthew 5:48 - Be ye therefore perfect, as your Father who is in heaven is perfect !

Matthew 6:1 - חוּרו דֵּין בּזֵדקַתכוּן דּלָא תֵּעבּדוּנָה קדָם בּנַי אנָשָׁא אַיכ דּתֵתחזוּן להוּן וֵאלָא אַגרָא לַיתּ לכוּן לוָת אַבוּכוּן דּבַשׁמַיָא .    
Matthew 6:1 - SEE that in your almsgiving you do it not before men, so as that you may be observed by them; otherwise no reward is for you with your Father who is in heaven.    
Matthew 6:1 - Be cautious in your alms-giving, not to perform it before men, so that ye may be seen of them: otherwise, ye have no reward from your Father who is in heaven.

Matthew 6:2 - אֵמַתי הָכִיל דּעָבֵד אַנתּ זֵדקתָא לָא תֵּקרֵא קַרנָא קדָמַיכּ אַיכ דּעָבדִּין נָסבַּי בַּאפֵּא בַּכנוּשָׁתָא וַבשׁוּקֵא אַיכ דּנֵשׁתַּבּחוּן מֵן בּנַי אנָשָׁא וַאמִין אָמַר אנָא לכוּן דּקַבֵּלו אַגרהוּן .   
Matthew 6:2 - When, therefore, thou art doing alms, sound not a trumpet before thee, as do the assumers of faces in the assemblies and streets, so that they may be praised from men; and, Amen I say to you, they receive their reward.    
Matthew 6:2 - Therefore, when thou doest alms thou shalt not sound a trumpet before thee, as the hypocrites do in the synagogues and in the streets, that they may get praise from men. Verily I say to you, They have gotten their reward.

Matthew 6:3 - אַנתּ דֵּין מָא דּעָבֵד אַנתּ זֵדקתָא לָא תֵּדַּע סֵמָלָכ מָנָא עָבדָּא יַמִינָכ .   
Matthew 6:3 - But thou, when thou art doing thy alms, let not thy left hand know what thy right hand doeth,

Matthew 6:4 - that thine alms may be in secret; and thy Father, who seeth in secret, shall recompense thee in openness.

Matthew 6:5 - ומָא דַּמצַלֵא אַנתּ לָא תֵּהוֵא אַיכ נָסבַּי בַּאפֵּא דּרָחמִין לַמקָם בַּכנוּשָׁתָא וַבזָויָתָא דּשׁוּקֵא לַמצַלָיוּ דּנֵתחזוּן לַבנַי אנָשָׁא וַאמִין אָמַר אנָא לכוּן דּקַבֵּלו אַגרהוּן .   
Matthew 6:5 - And when thou prayest, be not as the face-takers, who love to stand in the assemblies and at the corners of the streets to pray, that they may be seen of men;[The sons of men.] and truly I say to you that they receive their reward.    
Matthew 6:5 - And when thou prayest. thou shalt not be like the hypocrites, who are fond of standing up in the synagogues and at the corners of streets to pray, so that they may be seen by people. Verily I say to you, they have gotten their reward.   
Matthew 6:5 - And when you pray, do not be like the hypocrites, who like to pray, standing in the synagogues and at the street corners, so that they may be seen by men. Truly I say to you, that they have already received their reward   
Matthew 6:5 - וְכִי תִתְפַּלֵּל אַל־תְּהִי כַּחֲנֵפִים הָאֹהֲבִים לְהִתְפַּלֵּל בְּעָמְדָם בְּבָתֵּי כְנֵסִיּוֹת וּבְפִנּוֹת הַשְׁוָקִים לְמַעַן יֵרָאוּ לִבְנֵי אָדָם אָמֵן אֹמֵר אֲנִי לָכֶם הֵמָּה נָשְׂאוּ אֶת שְׂכָרָם׃    
Matthew 6:6 - אַנתּ דֵּין אֵמַתי דַּמצַלֵא אַנתּ עוּל לתַוָנָכ וַאחוּד תַּרעָכ וצַלָא לַאבוּכ דַּבכֵסיָא וַאבוּכ דּחָזֵא בּכֵסיָא נֵפרעָכ בּגֵליָא .    
Matthew 6:6 - But thou, when thou prayest, enter into thy secret chamber, and shut thy door, and pray to thy Father who is in secret; and thy Father, who seeth in secret, shall reward thee in openness.

Matthew 6:7 - ומָא דַּמצַלֵין אנתּוּן לָא הוַיתּוּן מפַקקִין אַיכ חַנפֵא סָברִין גֵּיר דַּבמַמללָא סַגִּיָאא מֵשׁתַּמעִין .   
Matthew 6:7 - And when thou art praying, be not wordy, like the profane; for they think that in much speaking they are heard.    
Matthew 6:7 - And when ye pray, be not garrulous like the heathen; for they expect to be heard for their abundance of words.

Matthew 6:8 - לָא הָכִיל תֵּדַּמוּן להוּן אַבוּכוּן גֵּיר יָדַע מָנָא מֵתבּעֵא לכוּן עַדלָא תֵּשֵׁאלוּנָיהי .   
Matthew 6:8 - Be you not like them, for your Father knoweth what is needful for you before that you ask him.

Matthew 6:13 - and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from the evil. For thine is the kingdom and the power and the glory to the age of ages.

Matthew 6:16 - WHEN, too, you fast, be not morosely sad as the assumers of faces, for they defile their countenances so as that they may appear unto men to fast: and, Amen I say unto you, they receive their reward.

Matthew 6:18 - that it may not appear to men that thou art fasting, but to thy Father who is in secret; and thy Father who seeth in secret, he shall reward thee.

Matthew 6:22 - The lamp of the body is the eye: if thine eye therefore be perfect, thy whole body will be illuminated;

Matthew 6:23 - but if thine eye be evil, thy whole body will be dark. If therefore the light that is in thee be darkness, what will thy darkness be ?

Matthew 6:24 - לָא אנָשׁ מֵשׁכַּח לַתרֵין מָרַוָן למֵפלַח אַו גֵּיר לחַד נֵסנֵא ולַאחרִנָא נֵרחַם אַו לחַד ניַקַר ולַאחרִנָא נשׁוּט לָא מֵשׁכּחִין אנתּוּן לַאלָהָא למֵפלַח וַלמָמוּנָא .   
Matthew 6:24 - No man can serve two lords; for the one he will hate, and the other he will love, or the one he will honour, and the other he will neglect: you cannot serve Aloha and riches.    
Matthew 6:24 - No man can serve two masters: for either he will hate the one and love the other, or he will honor the one and neglect the other. Ye cannot serve God and mammon.

Matthew 6:25 - מֵטֻל הָנָא אָמַר אנָא לכוּן לָא תּאִצפּוּן לנַפשׁכוּן מָנָא תֵּאכלוּן ומָנָא תֵּשׁתּוּן ולָא לפַגרכוּן מָנָא תֵּלבּשׁוּן לָא הָא נַפשָׁא יַתִּירָא מֵן סַיבָּרתָּא ופַגרָא מֵן לבוּשָׁא .   
Matthew 6:25 - WHEREFORE I say unto you, Let not your souls be anxious what you shall eat and what you shall drink, and for your bodies what you shall wear. Is not the life more excellent than food, and the body than raiment ?    
Matthew 6:25 - Therefore I say to you: Be not anxious about your life, what ye shall eat, and what ye shall drink; nor about your body, how ye shall clothe yourselves. Is not the life more important than food, and the body than raiment ?

Matthew 6:26 - חוּרו בּפָרַחתָא דַּשׁמַיָא דּלָא זָרעִין ולָא חָצדִּין ולָא חָמלִין בַּאוצרֵא וַאבוּכוּן דּבַשׁמַיָא מתַרסֵא להוּן לָא הָא אַנתּוּן מיַתּרִין אנתּוּן מֵנהוּן .   
Matthew 6:26 - Behold the fowls of the heaven; they sow not, neither do they reap, nor collect into granaries; yet your Father who is in heaven nourisheth them: are you not far more considerable than they ?    
Matthew 6:26 - Look at the birds of heaven; which sow not, and reap not, and gather not into storehouses, but your Father who is in heaven feedeth them. Are not ye more important than they ?   
Matthew 6:26 - Watch the birds of the sky, for they do not sow, neither do they harvest, nor gather into barns, and yet your Father in heaven feeds them. Are you not much more important than they?   
Matthew 6:26 - הַבִּיטוּ אֶל־עוֹף הַשָׁמַיִם וּרְאוּ הֵן לֹא יִזְרְעוּ וְלֹא יִקְצְרוּ וְלֹא יַאַסְפוּ לַאֲסָמִים וַאֲבִיכֶם שֶׁבַּשָׁמַיִם מְכַלְכֵּל אֹתָם הֲלֹא אַתֶּם נַעֲלֵיתֶם עֲלֵיהֶם מְאֹד׃   
Matthew 6:27 - מַנוּ דֵּין מֵנכוּן כַּד יָצֵפ מֵשׁכַּח למַוסָפוּ עַל קַומתֵה אַמתָא חדָא .   
Matthew 6:27 - But who among you by being anxious can add to his stature one cubit?    
Matthew 6:27 - And who of you that shall be anxious, can add to his stature a cubit ?

Matthew 6:27 - וּמִי בָכֶָם בְּדַאֲגָתוֹ יוּכַל לְהוֹסִיף עַל־קומָתוֹ אַמָּהּ אֶחָת׃    
Matthew 6:28 - ועַל לבוּשָׁא מָנָא יָצפִּין אנתּוּן אֵתבַּקַו בּשׁוּשַׁנֵא דּדַברָא אַיכַּנָא רָביָן דּלָא לָאיָן ולָא עָזלָן .   
Matthew 6:28 - and concerning raiment why are you anxious ? Look upon the lilies of the wilderness how they increase; they toil not, neither do they spin.    
Matthew 6:28 - And about raiment, why are ye anxious? Consider the lilies of the desert, in what manner they grow. They toil not; and they spin not.   
Matthew 6:28 - Why do you worry about clothing? Observe the wild flowers, how they grow; they do not get tired out, nor do they spin.

Matthew 6:30 - אֵן דֵּין לַעמִירָא דּחַקלָא דּיַומָנָא אִיתַוהי וַמחָר נָפֵל בּתַנוּרָא אַלָהָא הָכַנָא מַלבֵּשׁ לָא סַגִּי יַתִּיר לכוּן זעוּרַי הַימָנוּתָא .   
Matthew 6:30 - But if the herb of the field, which to-day exists, and tomorrow falleth into the oven, Aloha thus clotheth, how much more you, little of faith?    
Matthew 6:30 - And if God so clothe the grass of the field, which exists to-day, and tomorrow falls into the oven, will he not much more [clothe] you, ye small in faith?

Matthew 6:31 - לָא הָכִיל תּאִצפּוּן אַו תּאִמרוּן מָנָא נֵאכוּל אַו מָנָא נֵשׁתֵּא אַו מָנָא נֵתכַּסֵא .   
Matthew 6:31 - Be not anxious, therefore, nor say, What shall we eat, or, What shall we drink, or, How shall we be covered ?

Matthew 6:31 - Therefore do not worry or say, What will we eat, or what will we drink, or with what will we be clothed?

Matthew 6:32 - כֻּלהֵין גֵּיר הָלֵין עַממֵא הו בָּעֵין להֵין אַבוּכוּן דֵּין דּבַשׁמַיָא יָדַע דָּאפ לכוּן מֵתבַּעיָן הָלֵין כֻּלהֵין .   
Matthew 6:32 - For after all these things do the people of the world inquire: but your Father who is in heaven knoweth that also by you are required these all.    
Matthew 6:32 - For, all these things the people of the world seek after. And your Father, who is in heaven, knoweth that all these things are needful to you.

Matthew 6:33 - בּעַו דֵּין לוּקדַם מַלכּוּתֵה דַּאלָהָא וזַדִּיקוּתֵה וכֻלהֵין הָלֵין מֵתּתַּוספָן לכוּן .

Matthew 6:34 - לָא הָכִיל תּאִצפּוּן דַּמחָר הוּ גֵּיר מחָר יָצֵפ דִּילֵה סָפֵק לֵה ליַומָא בִּישׁתֵּה .   
Matthew 6:34 - Be not therefore anxious for to-morrow; the morrow shall care for its own: the evil of to-day is enough for it.    
Matthew 6:34 - Therefore be not anxious about the morrow: for the morrow hath its own anxieties. Sufficient for the day, is its own evil.

Matthew 7:1 - לָא תּדוּנוּן דּלָא תֵּתּדִינוּן .

Matthew 7:2 - For with the judgment that you judge, you shall be judged; and with the measure that you mete, it shall be measured to you.

Matthew 7:3 - מָנָא דֵּין חָזֵא אַנתּ גֵּלָא דַּבעַינֵה דַּאחוּכ וקָרִיתָא דַּבעַינָכ לָא בָּחַר אַנתּ .   
Matthew 7:3 - But why dost thou look at the rod that is in thy brother's eye, while the rafter that is in thine own eye thou dost not consider?    
Matthew 7:3 - And why observest thou the straw in thy brother's eye, and regardest not the beam that is in thine own eye ?    
Matthew 7:3 - Why do you see the splinter which is in your brother's eye, and do not feel the beam which is in your own eye?    
Matthew 7:3 - וְלָמָּה זֶּה תִרְאֶה אֶת־הַקֵּיסָם בְּעֵין אָחִיךָ וְאֶל־הַקּוֹרָה אֲשֶׁר בְּעֵינְךָ לֹא תַבִּיט׃   
Matthew 7:4 - אַו אַיכַּנָא אָמַר אַנתּ לַאחוּכ שׁבוּק אַפֵּק גֵּלָא מֵן עַינָכ והָא קָרִיתָּא בּעַינָכ .   
Matthew 7:4 - Or how sayest thou to thy brother, Permit that I draw forth the rod from thine eye, and, behold, there is a rafter in thine own eye ?    
Matthew 7:4 - Or how canst thou say to thy brother, Allow me to pluck the straw from thy eye; and lo! a beam is in thy own eye.    
Matthew 7:4 - Or how can you say to your brother, let me take out the splinter from your eye, and behold there is a cross beam in your own eye?   
Matthew 7:4 - וְאֵיךְ תֹּאמַר אֶל־אָחִיךָ הַנִּיחָה לִּי וְאָסִיר אֶת־הַקֵּיסָם מֵעֵינֶךָ וְהִנֵּה הַקּוֹרָה בְּעֵינֶךָ׃   
Matthew 7:5 - נָסֵב בַּאפֵּא אַפֵּק לוּקדַם קָרִיתָּא מֵן עַינָכ והָידֵּין נֵתבּחַר לָכ למַפָּקוּ גֵּלָא מֵן עַינֵה דַּאחוּכ .   
Matthew 7:5 - Hypocrite ! draw forth first the rafter from thine own eye, and then thou wilt see to draw forth the rod from thy brother's eye.    
Matthew 7:5 - Thou hypocrite; pluck first the beam from thy own eye; and then thou wilt see clearly, to pluck the straw out of thy brother's eye.   
Matthew 7:5 - O hypocrites, first take out the beam from your own eye, and then you will see clearly to get out the splinter from your brother's eye.

Matthew 7:6 - לָא תֵּתּלוּן קוּדשָׁא לכַלבֵּא ולָא תַּרמוּן מַרגָּניָתכוּן קדָם חזִירֵא דַּלמָא נדוּשׁוּן אֵנֵין בּרֵגלַיהוּן ונֵהפּכוּן נבַזעוּנָכוּן .    
Matthew 7:6 - Give not the holy unto dogs, and throw not your precious stones before swine, lest they trample them under their feet, and turn again and rend you.

Matthew 7:7 - שַׁאלו ונֵתִיהֵב לכוּן בּעַו ותֵשׁכּחוּן קוּשׁו ונֵתפּתַח לכוּן .

Matthew 7:8 - כֻּל גֵּיר דּשָׁאֵל נָסֵב וַדבָעֵא מֵשׁכַּח ולַאינָא דּנָקֵשׁ מֵתפּתַח לֵה .   
Matthew 7:8 - For every one who asketh receiveth, and he who seeketh findeth; and to him who knocketh it is opened.    
Matthew 7:8 - For, every one that asketh, receiveth: and he that seeketh, findeth: and to him that knocketh, it shall be opened.

Matthew 7:9 - אַו מַנוּ מֵנכוּן גַּברָא דּנֵשֵׁאלִיוהי בּרֵה לַחמָא למָא כּאִפָא מַושֵׁט לֵה .   
Matthew 7:9 - Or what man from among you, who if his son shall ask bread, will reach forth a stone to him ?    
Matthew 7:9 - For what man is there among you, of whom if his son ask bread, will he reach him a stone?   
Matthew 7:9 - Or who is the man among you, who when his son asks him for bread, why, will he hand him a stone?

Matthew 7:10 - וֵאן נוּנָא נֵשֵׁאלִיוהי למָא חֵויָא מַושֵׁט לֵה .   
Matthew 7:10 - if a fish he shall ask of him, a serpent will he reach forth to him ?    
Matthew 7:10 - Or if he ask of him a fish, will he reach him a serpent?   
Matthew 7:10 - Or if he should ask him for fish, why, will he hand him a snake?   
Matthew 7:10 - וְכִי יִשְׁאַל מִמֶּנּוּ דָּג הֲיִתֶּן־לוֹ נָחָשׁ׃    
Matthew 7:11 - וֵאן הָכִיל אַנתּוּן דּבִישֵׁא אנתּוּן יָדעִין אנתּוּן מַוהבָתָא טָבָתָא למֵתַּל לַבנַיכּוּן כּמָא יַתִּירָאיִת אַבוּכוּן דּבַשׁמַיָא נֵתֵּל טָבָתָא לַאילֵין דּשָׁאלִין לֵה .   
Matthew 7:11 - If, therefore, you who are evil know to give good gifts unto your children, how much more shall your Father who is in heaven give good things to those who ask him?

Matthew 7:12 - All therefore that you will that men shall do unto you, so also do you unto them: for this is the law and the prophets.

Matthew 7:13 - עוּלו בּתַרעָא אַלִיצָא דַּפתֵא הו תַּרעָא וַארוִיחָא אוּרחָא אַידָא דּמַובּלָא לַאבדָנָא וסַגִּיֵאא אֵנוּן אַילֵין דָּאזִלין בָּה .   
Matthew 7:13 - ENTER in at the narrow gate: for wide is the gate, and spacious the way, that conducteth to destruction; and they are many who go therein.    
Matthew 7:13 - Enter ye in by the strait gate; for wide is the gate and broad the way which leadeth to destruction; and many are they that walk in it.

Matthew 7:14 - מָא קַטִין תַּרעָא וַאלִיצָא אוּרחָא דּמַובּלָא לחַיֵא וַזעוּרֵא אֵנוּן אַילֵין דּמֵשׁכּחִין לָה .   
Matthew 7:14 - How small is the gate, and narrow the way, that leadeth unto salvation; and they are few who find it !    
Matthew 7:14 - How small the gate and straitened the way that leadeth to life, and few they who find it!   
Matthew 7:14 - O how narrow is the door, and how difficult is the road which carries to life, and few are those who are found on it.

Matthew 7:15 - אֵזדַּהרו מֵן נבִיֵא דַּגָּלֵא דָּאתֵין לוָתכוּן בַּלבוּשֵׁא דֵּאמרֵא מֵן לגַו דֵּין אִיתַיהוּן דּאִבֵא חָטוּפֵא .   
Matthew 7:15 - Beware of false prophets, who come to you in the clothing of sheep, but within are ravening wolves.

Matthew 7:16 - מֵן פּאִרַיהוּן דֵּין תֵּדּעוּן אֵנוּן למָא לָקטִין מֵן כּוּבֵּא עֵנבֵּא אַו מֵן קוּרטבֵּא תּאִנֵא .   
Matthew 7:16 - By their fruits you shall know them. Do they gather from thorns grapes, or from briers figs?

Matthew 7:17 - So every good tree maketh good fruits; but an evil tree maketh evil fruits.

Matthew 7:18 - A good tree cannot make evil fruits, nor an evil tree make good fruits.

Matthew 7:19 - כֻּל אִילָנָא דּלָא עָבֵד פּאִרֵא טָבֵא מֵתפּסֵק וַבנוּרָא נָפֵל .    
Matthew 7:19 - Every tree that maketh not good fruits is cut down, and falleth into the fire.

Matthew 7:21 - Not every one that saith to me, My Lord, my Lord, entereth into the kingdom of heaven; but he who doeth the will of my Father who is in heaven.

Matthew 7:22 - סַגִּיֵאא נאִמרוּן לִי בּהַו יַומָא מָרי מָרי לָא בַּשׁמָכ אֵתנַבִּין ובַשׁמָכ שׁאִדֵא אַפֵּקן ובַשׁמָכ חַילֵא סַגִּיֵאא עבַדן .   
Matthew 7:22 - Multitudes will say to me in that day My Lord, my Lord, in thy name have we not prophesied, and in thy name ejected devils, and in thy name performed many mighty works ?    
Matthew 7:22 - Many will say to me in that day, My Lord, my Lord, have-we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name cast out demons ? and in thy name wrought many works of power?

Matthew 7:23 - והָידֵּין אַודֵּא להוּן דּמֵן מתוּם לָא יִדַעתּכוּן אַרחֵקו לכוּן מֵני פָּלחַי עַולָא .   
Matthew 7:23 - And then will I confess to them, I never knew you; go far from me, ye workers of iniquity.

Matthew 7:24 - כֻּל הָכִיל דּשָׁמַע מֵלַי הָלֵין ועָבֵד להֵין נֵתּדַּמֵא לגַברָא חַכִּימָא הַו דַּבנָא בַּיתֵּה עַל שׁוּעָא .   
Matthew 7:24 - Every one therefore who heareth these my words, and doeth them, shall be likened to a wise man, who built his house upon a rock.

Matthew 7:25 - וַנחֵת מֵטרָא וֵאתַו נַהרַוָתָא וַנשַׁב רוּחֵא וֵאתטַרִיו בֵּה בּבַיתָּא הַו ולָא נפַל שֵׁתֵאסַוהי גֵּיר עַל שׁוּעָא סִימָן הוַי .    
Matthew 7:25 - And the rain descended, and the torrents came, and the winds blew, and rushed against that house, but it fell not, for its foundations were placed upon the rock.

Matthew 7:25 - וַיֵּרֶד הַגֶּשֶׁם וַיִּשְׁטְפוּ הַנְּחָלִים וַיְנַשְׁבוּ הָרוּחוֹת וַיִּגְּעוּ בַּבַּיִת הַהוּא וְלֹא נָפָל כִּי יֻסַּד עַל־הַצּוּר׃    
Matthew 7:26 - וכֻל מַן דּשָׁמַע מֵלַי הָלֵין ולָא עָבֵד להֵין נֵתּדַּמֵא לגַברָא סַכלָא דַּבנָא בַּיתֵּה עַל חָלָא .   
Matthew 7:26 - And every one who heareth these my words, and doeth them not, shall be likened to a man who built his house upon sand.

Matthew 7:27 - וַנחֵת מֵטרָא וֵאתַו נַהרַוָתָא וַנשַׁב רוּחֵא וֵאתטַרִיו בּבַיתָּא הַו וַנפַל וַהוָת מַפּוּלתֵּה רַבָּא .   
Matthew 7:27 - And the rain descended, and the torrents came, and the winds blew, and rushed against that house, and it fell, and the ruin of it was great.

Matthew 7:28 - וַהוָא דּכַד שַׁלֵם יֵשׁוּע מֵלֵא הָלֵין תַּהִירִין הוַו כֵּנשֵׁא עַל יוּלפָּנֵה .   
Matthew 7:28 - And when Jeshu had finished these words, the multitudes wondered at his doctrine.

Matthew 7:28 - וַיְהִי כְּכַלּוֹת יֵשׁוּעַ לְדַבֵּר אֶת־הַדְּבָרִים הָאֵלֶּה וַיִּשְׁתּוֹמֵם הֲמוֹן הָעָם עַל־תּוֹרָתוֹ׃   
Matthew 7:29 - מַלֵפ הוָא להוּן גֵּיר אַיכ משַׁלטָא ולָא אַיכ סָפרַיהוּן וַפרִישֵׁא .    
Matthew 7:29 - For he taught them as one having power, and not as their scribes and the Pharishee.
